The Laboratoire national de santé hosts a virology-serology lab which is analysing the covid-19 situation in Luxembourg.

Serology involves examining if after an infection, people’s bodies have built antibodies against the coronavirus, so-called immunity testing.

The department’s head, Dr Trung Nguyen, told Delano last week that his team is validating the data coming out of the laboratory tests. According to the LNS, staff are working seven days a week because of the increased workload from the health crisis.

Luxembourg is in the middle of a large-scale immunity test involving some 1,500 people. The first findings of the Con-vince study are expected end of May, beginning of June.
