Henri Kox was confirmed as new housing minister on Thursday after a 259-3 vote, with 4 abstentions
On Thursday evening the Greens confirmed Henri Kox as the new housing minister in a 259-3 vote, with 4 abstentions.
Kox therefore replaces Sam Tanson, who herself was confirmed last week as the new permanent minister for justice, the portfolio previously held by Félix Braz, who will not return to government following a serious heart attack he suffered on 22 August.
The extraordinary meeting was also a time to pay tribute to Braz. As Paperjam reports, the emotion in the room was “very strong, almost palpable”. Party co-chair, Djuna Bernard, said, “We must respect the mandate of voters. Félix would see it that way too…although it was difficult, we had to look for someone to replace him.”
