The University of Luxembourg on Wednesday hosted the first of three virtual open days, after taking the annual event online because of a ban on large gatherings to curb the spread of coronavirus.
A university spokesperson told Delano on Tuesday that normally the annual open day attracts up to 3,500 people.
It was too early to say whether they would reach that number this year, but the open day website had already received 16,500 visits since it launched on 21 March. The university is facilitating a virtual live chats from 8-10 April by scheduling virtual meetings on various programmes. Time slots can be found here.
Wednesday is dedicated to 14 bachelor programmes and on Thursday and Friday people can attend meetings about 42 master programmes. The spokeswoman said the university was considering other digital means to “let people discover the campus and student life.”
