The work holiday programme agreement was signed by both governments on 26 September 2016. It entitles a limited number of 18 to 30-year-olds from the two countries to stay for up to one year in the partner country.

The purpose of the programme is to give young adults the chance to holiday in partner countries and discover another culture, Luxembourg’s government said in a press announcement on Tuesday.

At the same time, the beneficiary can study or work, however, they must prove they have the financial resources to live in the host country.

Under the visa restrictions, recipients are allowed to leave and re-enter the state using the same visa.
