Paperjam reported on Monday that the results were helped in large part by the opening of the third tower of the European Court of Justice, providing 39,750 square metres.

Elsewhere, the Luxembourg state has begun a lease for 9,500 square metres of office space in Luxembourg-Hamm, KPMG took up a further 8,500 square metres in Kirchberg, Allen & Overy took up residence in the Infinity project, also in Kirchberg, and ARHS took up 10,000 square metres after moving into the Naos building in Esch-Belval.

These new leases have pushed the vacancy rate even lower with a total 152,000 square metres remaining on the national market. Across a total stock of 4.3 million square metres, it brings the national vacancy rate to 3.5%, the lowest level recorded since the start of the decade. Space is tightest in the centre of the capital where the rate is 1%, in Kirchberg and 2% in the Gare district, while at Cloche d’Or the vacancy rate fell from 8% to 3%.

The year is expected to end with a high total rental figure with the first phase of the European Parliament Kad2 extension expected to reach completion, unlocking 168,000 square metres of space.
