Members of juries in a record 70 cities in 41 different countries, including Luxembourg, will watch three European films and vote for their winner of the European Film Academy’s Young Audience Award.

Jury members need to be available between 23 and 25 April to watch the three nominated films online. They will also be part of a video deliberation with a film and media literacy expert and members of the LuxFilmFest team on 26 April to select the grand duchy’s winning film. The Luxembourg jury along with others will then transmit their national results to the European Film Academy in Erfurt, Germany. The overall winner will be unveiled at an awards ceremony at 4pm on 26 April, which will be broadcast live from Erfurt on the event’s official website

The three nominees are “My Brother Chases Dinosaurs” by Italian director Stefano Cipani, “My Extraordinary Week With Tess” by Dutch director Steven Wouterlood, and “Rocca Changes The World” by German director Katja Benrath. All three films will be screened in original language with a choice to select English (or German or French) subtitles.

Registration for 12-to-14-year-olds is now open via email: [email protected]. The registration deadline is 5pm on Friday 17 April. Additional information is available via the Luxembourg City Film Festival website page dedicated to the awards.
