The Ladurée store on the corner of rue des Capucins and Grand Rue is doe to reopen soon, its new owner has announced.

‘’We hope to open the first week of December at the latest,’” said Santeramo, who bought the master franchise of the macaroon brand for Luxembourg. The 50-year-old entrepreneur does not intend on stopping there: ‘’The idea is to be able to open kiosks and other tea salons in shopping malls.’’

But for now, the priority is to recruit, train and refresh the premises in preparation for the opening of the restaurant located in the proximity of the Place d’Armes.

Local recipes

Although the range of famous macaroons is known to many gourmets, the new operator of the brand intends to ‘’localise the concept’’ with additional Luxembourgish recipes. ‘’There will be real change,’’ Santeramo adds.

In total, Ladurée is expected to employ between 10 and 12 people for its first point of sales before expanding elsewhere in the country throughout 2021. Ladurée Luxembourg declared bankruptcy on 12 June, after ten years in the grand duchy. Its new owner feels people have been eager to see some sign of a return of the brand to the Luxembourg high street.

‘’My wife and I thought we should add another string to our bow,’’ said Santeramo, who owns the Feel Good Group Capital that operates franchises in the ready-to-wear fashion sector that has some 24 outlets. These include six Tally Weijl stores, five Eros collection outlets, three S.Oliver/Comma and two Mango stores. The lockdown last spring was, per his own admission, ‘’very painful, because as a franchise one cannot work online.’’

But the Ladurée acquisition will take the number of employees at Feel Good Group Capital to over 100.
