According to a government press release, the Institut National de Langues will open an annexe at the University of Luxembourg’s Belval campus.

“The courses offered on the Belval-Université site are aimed at university staff and students as well as any other interested person,” the statement said.

Initially, courses will be offered in Belval German, English, French and Luxemburgish at levels A1 to B2. The INL also offers courses at Lycée Aline Mayrisch, in addition to its official sites in Luxembourg-Kirchberg and Mersch.

INL director Karine Pundel told Delano that the decision to expand to Belval came from the realisation that there were "many learners from the South of the country" and as a result  of "various surveys carried out by the INL with its public, cooperation with the university".

Across its centres, the INL offers courses in eight languages: German, English, Chinese, Spanish, French, Italian, Luxembourgish and Portuguese. Starting in the autumn it will offer around 400 courses, according to Pundel.

Interested learners wishing to begin a course for the first time should make an appointment first. Appointments for people wishing to study next semester will be conducted from 10-12 July with further dates to be added from 15 September.
