Over half of people polled in a recent survey said they supported the legalisation of cannabis in Luxembourg, and not just for medicinal consumption.
The TNS Ilres question of the month asked 537 people aged 18 and over in February about the controversial issue of legalising the drug.
While one in five respondents were strongly in support, almost two out of five said they would support its legalisation but with certain conditions.
Last year, the Luxembourg health ministry announced a two-year pilot programme enabling around 100 patients access to medicine with cannabis extracts or cannabinoids. The types of treatments that are permitted include inhaling heated cannabis flowers, and use of cannabis oils, sprays and tinctures.
