Lithuania (19.2%), Slovakia (16.3%), Poland (16.1%), Latvia (15.8%), Estonia (13.7%), Hungary (13.7%) and Malta (13.3%) all experienced higher air passenger growth rates. No EU country registered a contraction; the lowest increase was in Sweden (+1.3%).

In Luxembourg, the vast majority of passengers (90%) took flights serving a location within the EU, with only 10% of passengers travelling between the grand duchy and a city outside the EU. Across the entire bloc, 63% of passengers were on intra-EU flights and 37% were on extra-EU flights.

Eurostat published the figures on 6 December.
