During a press conference on Wednesday, economy minister Etienne Schneider (LSAP) cited the transformation as a success story for industrial digitisation in Luxembourg, and dubbed it a “pioneering project” which illustrates “our digital innovation strategy in the priority area of industry 4.0”.

Husky has had a presence in Luxembourg since 1984 where it specialises in the design and manufacture of injection moulding machines and integrated industrial production systems.

Its “factory of the future” was part of an R&D project, costing some €11m, of which €3.4m was supported by a ministry grant. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Siemens group.

The digitisation of these services enables the company to speed up processes and reduce production costs without impacting value-added services.
