Luxembourg’s national 7s rugby team, pictured, finished fourth in the second leg of the European Sevens Trophy Luxembourg Rugby Federation

Seeded in twelfth place at the start of the two-day tournament in Bucharest, Luxembourg were underdogs and showed true grit in powering their way through the games.

The first day on 17 June saw Luxembourg achieve one loss (Luxembourg 21-28 Lithuania) and two wins (Luxembourg 26-0 Moldova and Luxembourg 21-14 Ukraine).

After winning the cup quarter finals by scoring in extra time (Luxembourg 15-10 Israel), Luxembourg ceded the last two semi final games (Luxembourg 7-26 Sweden and Luxembourg 0-29 Romania).

The weekend of 24-25 June will see Luxembourg’s women’s 7s team travel to Slovakia for the European Women's Sevens Conference. They face Slovakia, Andorra and Slovenia in the pool stages.
