Ethiopian runner Yonas Kinde is the Luxembourg poster boy for a petition to support refugees around the world.

Kinde, who received refugee status in Luxembourg in 2013, competed in the Rio Olympic Games in 2016 for the refugee team. His face is seen on the back of a bus in this picture posted on Twitter by Carine Rustom, who wrote:
The UNHCR petition aims to raise awareness by sharing stories, while encouraging the public to support refugees by ensuring they have a safe place to live. At the time of publishing, it had over 17.5 million signatures.
According to the UNHCR, around 1.2 million refugees around the world will need to be resettled in 2018. Syrian refugees represent 40% of global resettlement needs, followed by refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo (12%) and Central African Republic (8%).
