Bianca Rita Pistillo, a researcher at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (List), received the prestigious prize from the International Association of Advanced Materials in Stockholm on Thursday 23 August.

According to List, her research on Pedot focuses on:

"A deposition technique of the almost transparent conducting polymer which possesses several advantageous properties, such as low oxidation potential and moderate bandgap combined with good stability in an oxidized state."

List explained in a press release that, working with engineer Kevin Menguelti, she:

"Demonstrated the List proprietary technique named ‘Plasma radicals assisted polymerization’ via CVD (Prap-CVD) as an efficient alternative to conventional vapour based techniques to deposit conjugated polymers.”

The research was conducted at List’s materials research and technology department within the Visible Light Nanocomposite Photocatalysts (Visicat) project, funded in part by the Luxembourg National Research Fund.
