The tram isn’t even finished yet, and yet traffic failed to stir up our cortisol levels: the capital of Luxembourg was ranked the second least stressful city on the globe, according to the index released by the company this week.

Noise pollution was perceived as the most stressful element in Luxembourg City, whereas mental health reduced the overall stress factor of the city.

The rather complex methodology studied 500 locations based on comparable quantification of data issued from the cities themselves, such as air pollution, finance, public transport, hours of sunshine and population density.

The scores were counted from 1 to 10, with 1 being the least amount of stress possible and 10 indicating the most. Luxembourg scored a 1.13, closely after the world’s most chilled city, Stuttgart (1 point).

Other cities in the top ten were Hannover, Munich and Edinburgh.

The most stressful city, reckoned ZipJet, is Baghdad, for which an average of 10 points was recorded.

Zipjet is a home delivery dry cleaning and laundry service in London, Berlin and Paris.
