The company made the announcement on its website on 7 April.

The restart dates could change, depending on the evolution of the covid-19 pandemic. Luxair stated: “We are working closely with the official authorities, to ensure that we are always aligned with the latest official guidelines”.

LuxairTours was grounded on 23 March and scheduled Luxair service was halted on 24 March.

The airline said LuxairTours travellers whose trips were cancelled would receive vouchers. “Customers who had to fly back home earlier than planned between 16 March 2020 and 22 March 2020 are also entitled to receive a voucher,” Luxair stated.

Passengers on scheduled Luxair flights that were cancelled will either receive a refund or a voucher, depending on when the departure was scheduled. The carrier told travellers that for new reservations booked until 30 April, “you will be able to change your travel dates without any change fees to any later travel date within 365 days of your initial booking date – regardless of the initial fare purchased.”

Correction: An earlier version of this article misstated the dates that Luxair and LuxairTour flights were grounded. They were 24 March and 23 March 2020, respectively. This was updated on 9 April 2020 at 1:30pm
