While Luxembourg City did not have an outstanding performance, the other cities in the survey were far worse.

Compare the Market ranked 38 locations on the accessibility of hotel rooms, tourist attractions and its airport, rankings in the European Commission’s City Access Award, and how each city communicated with disabled residents and travellers.

On 10 July, Compare the Market stated:

“Luxembourg has the highest percentage of accessible rooms with wheelchair access and also ranks within the top 3 cities for attractions with wheelchair access.”

Luxembourg City may have topped the accessible accommodations list, but only 19% of its hotel rooms, and 33% of tourist sites, were wheelchair friendly.

The capital also got points for its relatively high European Commission rating, its public transport system and awareness campaigns.
