The campaign was published Friday and aims to ensure better coverage of relief efforts for the entire country via the creation of the Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps or CGDIS.

The body is expected to be up and running in 2018 when the new recruits will be offered professional development and ongoing training.

"With this campaign, we particularly want to reach firefighters and ambulance volunteers who are ready to help the citizens day and night. We are therefore looking for people with a great sense of responsibility, a team spirit and a strong commitment to citizenship,” interior minister Dan Kersch said.

Once the training has been completed, the 50 selected candidates will be assigned missions based on personal assistance, firefighting and technical accidents and incidents.

The deadline for the submission of applications is 15 August 2017. To find out more, visit www.secours-jobs.lu.
