That’s according to a survey conducted for the education ministry by TNS Ilres, released on 7 June 2018 (in French and in Luxembourgish).

Among the other findings:

• 80% of respondents said they speak English
• 77% stated that they speak a competent level of Luxembourgish
• 70% speak all three of the country’s official languages (French, German and Luxembourgish)

The ministry commissioned the survey to measure the role of Luxembourgish in the country’s social fabric. 83% agreed that Luxembourgish was an important language for integrating into Luxembourg society.
