Sasha Baillie studied in Scotland before getting Luxembourg nationality and beginning a career in economic diplomacy Maison moderne/archives

Sasha Baillie takes up the role at the head of the business innovation accelerator on 1 May, succeeding Jean-Paul Schuler, who left his position on 1 April, 2018. Baillie was born and raised in Luxembourg by British parents. She studied in Scotland before getting Luxembourg nationality and beginning a career in economic diplomacy.

Among other things, Baillie led the GovSat project, a joint venture between the Luxembourg State and SES, to acquire, launch and operate a satellite for military and government communication.

According to a Luxinnovation press release, Baillie will remain a member of the economy ministry coordination committee  and will continue to chair the inspiring Luxembourg coordination committee, which is leading the nation branding exercise. Luxinnovation also announced the appointment of Philippe Osch, CTO of Hitec Luxembourg, to its board of managers.
