Marc Gerges presided as Radio 100,7 director since 2019  Maison moderne/archives

Gerges was reportedly relieved of his duties effective immediately, according to Reporter.lu, which cites an internal memo by the board of directors to staff at the public radio station.

Véronique Faber is to succeed him, at least on an interim basis and while a recruitment procedure for Gerges' replacement is ongoing. Faber is the president of the station's board of directors.

In its 1pm update, the station confirmed Gerges' departure as director, a post he assumed in 2019, also confirming Faber as his interim replacement.

Gerges made his debut as a journalist, first at the Lëtzebuerger Land (1997-2001), and then at Le Quotidien, where he served as deputy editor until 2003.

The Luxembourger then joined the LuxairGroup communication department until becoming a member of management in 2016.
