Responding to a parliamentary question about traffic related to student comings and goings in Limpertsberg, Claude Meisch said: “Aware of the precarious situation of the district with regards to traffic, the sustainable development ministry along with my department, are working intensely on the plans for this new infrastructure.”

He said a new building to house the Lycée Technique du Centre, currently located in Limpertsberg, was also in the planning stages. One would be built in Kirchberg and the other in the Midfield district being created between Gasperich and Howald. He added further that the Waldorf school would also leave the Limpertsberg district for a new site, where it would be operational by 2025. He did not say where the site was.

Meisch was responding to concerns raised in a joint question from CSV MPs Martine Hansen and Serge Wilmes regarding the impact on traffic volumes of the move of the recently created Lycée Michel Lucius English primary from its temporary home in Belair to the former Lycée Vauban building in Limpertsberg.

Meisch reminded the politicians that there were some 1,950 fewer students in Limpertsberg since the French school moved to Gasperich, while the Michel Lucius primary would bring a maximum of 320 pupils to the area. He further said that two shuttle buses would be operational, running children between Belair, Kirchberg and the school site.
