Swimming ban on Weiswanpach lake until further notice.
Luxembourg’s administration for water management has issued further swimming restrictions due to the presence of the dangerous blue-green algae in some of the grand duchy’s most popular bathing areas.
In a statement sent out on 30 June 2018, bathers are advised that, in addition to the ban on swimming and other water activities on the Upper Sûre lake, a prohibition is now also in place for the Weiswampach lake.
As for Remerschen, bathing is still permitted as there has been no evidence of blue-green algae found.
The situation in all three areas will continue to be monitored and regular updates can be found on the water administration website here.
