Luxembourg’s job agency, Adem, recorded over 7,000 unfilled vacancies at the end of September 2018, according to the latest figures.
Over the course of a year, the number of vacant posts remaining rose by 10.2%.
Of the posts still open, the 10 most commonly-sought profiles were:
Building and site maintenance: 143
IT developers: 127
Food preparation: 93
Financial services front office: 89
Manual assembly, sorting or packaging: 76
Restaurant waiting staff: 75
IT consulting and project management: 66
Office cleaners: 65
The same month, Adem received 3,234 new job adverts, marking a -1.8% decline over a year. Of those positions, 83.9% were fixed term (CDD) or permanent posts (CDI) while 7.2% were temporary jobs. Over the course of a year, the proportion of temporary jobs fell by -41.5% while advertised CDD and CDI positions rose by 5.6%.
