Bill 7255 will qualify trails and roads through forests as a public thoroughfare and removes the public liability for landowners in case of accident, unless the injured party can prove the owner committed a fault that led to the incident.

Landowners, meanwhile, have the right to prohibit access to their forests, by erecting signs or fences. In the new framework, forests are defined as “wooded land occupying an area of at least 25 ares.”
