Laurent Witz, who won an Oscar for the animated short film “Mr Hublot” in 2014, presented a cute story which shows, through the eyes of a little girl, a bird made of paper which evolves through the people it meets. It grows from a paper bird, to a wooden bird, to a metal bird which can fly better each time, a metaphor for the grand duchy which has evolved over time.
Witz said: “The level of detail on the characters, on the décor, on the intensity of the atmosphere presented a real technological and artistic challenge because of the mix of techniques. We build each of our projects like a new challenge.”
Francine Closener, secretary of state of the economy, who presented the video at the CNA on Tuesday 6 February, said that “the film has a strong and engaging message which transmits perfectly the promise of the country: together we can go further”.
The film is going to be shown internationally to present Luxembourg to a public which does not know necessarily much about the grand duchy.
There are two versions, a 30-second and a 2-minute clip. It will be available on the Youtube channel “Inspiring Luxembourg” and on the Facebook page “Let’s make it happen”, and will also be screened in cinemas in the Greater Region and on Luxembourg TV. The short clip will also be used during state visits and economic missions.
It’s available in Luxembourgish, German, French and English.
