The University of Luxembourg currently has 14 active infections out of a total population of 8,803 people, including 6,714 students.

Of these 14 active cases, eight have an origin external to the university, according to the tracing carried out in the wake of the diagnoses.

Since the start of the pandemic, Luxembourg has accumulated 9,514 cases among its population, with 60 cases recorded at the university. This brings the rate of infections to 2% of the country's population, and 1% within the institution.

The emphasis seems to be on prevention within the campus. After an invitation to a screening test at the start of the school year, staff and students should soon repeat the operation, said the university's communication service.

"If a student is reported positive, their entire class goes into full distance learning for at least 14 days," said the institution. For the moment, there are three modes of operation for courses: distance learning, face-to-face organisation in limited numbers and a rotation system.
