Some 120 patients have been prescribed medical cannabis since Luxembourg legalised such medicine in 2018.
Responding to a parliamentary question from MP Martine Hansen (CSV), health minister Etienne Schneider (LSAP) explained that the total quantity prescribed was around 7 kilos.
The law legalising the prescription and sale of medical cannabis for patients with certain conditions passed unanimously in June 2018. But it was not until the end of 2018 that such products were available from hospital pharmacies. Schneider added that around 2 out of 3 GPs had since taken training in the applications of medical cannabis.
