Some 120 patients have been prescribed medical cannabis since Luxembourg legalised such medicines in 2018.
Responding to a parliamentary question from MP Martine Hansen (CSV), health minister Etienne Schneider (LSAP) explained that the total quantity prescribed was around 7 kilos.
The law legalising the prescription and sale of medical cannabis for patients with certain conditions, passed unanimously in June 2018. But, it was not until the end of 2018 that such products were available from hospital pharmacies. Schneider added that around two out of three GPs had since taken training in the applications of medical cannabis.
