A petitioner is calling for place de la Gare, pictured, in Luxembourg City, to be a pedestrian-only zone Matic Zorman/archives

The first one proposes to make Place de la Gare in Luxembourg a pedestrian-only zone. This should be done once the work on the tramway is finished this December. The aim is to make the square more pleasant and to create a second pedestrian zone in the city centre.

The second petition proposes to increase the number of buses dedicated to school students. The objective is to avoid crowds, to have more seats for the older students, to limit injuries in case of accidents and to reduce the number of robberies.

Petition 1670 calls on the government to abolish freedom of movement restrictions for unmarried couples. Specifically, the author wants a waiver for non-EU spouse arriving in Luxembourg on the basis solely of an "honour certificate attesting to a sincere and lasting relationship".

The last petition asks for clear information on the future vaccine against covid-19 in order to be able to "make our decision for or against coronavaccine, in complete freedom and under good conditions".

If these petitions gather at least 4,500 signatures, they will lead to a public debate. Three will take place during this month.

On 6 October, 5G and its deployment will be discussed. On 19 October, the introduction of a right to telework will be discussed, and on 21 October, the protection of Luxembourg's heritage will be discussed.
