The main entrance of the central train station in Luxembourg City, seen the morning of 14 May 2018 Staff

The piece fell from the station’s façade near the main entrance on Sunday afternoon, CFL, the national railway, said in a press statement on 13 May. No one was injured in the incident.

A team from the railway and the city’s traffic service temporarily blocked off the front entrance while emergency work and a safety check was carried out.

Following an inspection of the façade, the entryway was reopened late Sunday evening, CFL said in a separate press statement on 14 May. A technical team found that there was no further danger.
