According to the website of inter-governmental organisation Interpol, authorities around the world are seeking 7,049 people in connection with suspected criminal activity or to serve a prison sentence. Of that number, the Luxembourg Police are seeking six men in relation to crimes that were carried out in the grand duchy.

The oldest case is that of Jean Marc Sirichai Kiesch, now 38, who was born in Bangkok and has Luxembourg nationality. In 2000, Kiesch was condemned to 20 years in prison for murdering an elderly woman in his house in Beaufort and then setting fire to the property to conceal the crime in 1999. He has been a fugitive since October 2004 when he was given prison leave for good behaviour. In May 2018, police issued several new photos of what Kiesch could look like at the time, in order to assist people in identifying him.

One criminal appears to be almost within the police’s grip. According to the French newspaper Est Republicain, French police arrested Kevin Perstner, 29, in July 2019. Originally from Metz, Perstner was charged with armed robbery and threats in an inhabited house, assault and battery of a retired couple, and criminal association in 2016.

Two years ago, wanted murderer Mohamed Ezzi, 31, went on the run. The Tunisian is charged with murder and grievous bodily injury. According to Luxembourg Police, Ezzi repeatedly beat his wife from 2009 to 2014 leaving her with a permanent visual impairment and unable to work.

Izet “Izo” Ajdinovic, 48, meanwhile, is charged with an armed robbery in a private home in Luxembourg in March 2013. The Serb is also charged with theft, laundering of proceeds, kidnapping, sequestration, hostage taking and extortion. Although his Facebook profile suggests he lives in Luxembourg, he is believed to be living in Serbia.

Cihan Guzel, 34, from Turkey, was among the gang who used explosives and automatic weapons in a bid to rob a security depot in Luxembourg in 2013. He was charged with murder, grievous bodily injury, attempted murder/grievous bodily injury, attempted oraganised armed robbery, detaining, importing and using illegal weapons. Guzel was sentenced to 22 years of prison in May 2016.

Lastly, the most discrete on the Luxembourg list is German national Andreas Gerhard Gnauk, 54, who is charged with forgery of official documents, use of forged documents, swindling and breach of trust.
