Perennial Europa League contestants FC Progrès Niederkorn will face the surprise qualifiers at home on 27 June and in Wales on 4 July.  Cardiff Metropolitan University FC beat Bala Town on penalties in a play-off final in May after finishing seventh in the Welsh Premier League.

Niederkorn, who finished 4th in the BGL Ligue, have a proud record in Europe since qualifying for the second preliminary round in 2017 following a 2-0 home win against Glasgow Rangers. Last season they again progressed to the second round of qualifying by beating Gabala FK of Azerbaijan.

The Cardiff team is excited by the prospect of a “European tour”, and tweeted news of the draw on Tuesday afternoon and a handy guide to their opponents.
