The Luxembourg delegation raise a glass to a contest where its producers made a mark Luxembourg viticulture ministry

The contest, which took place on 24 May in Die, in the Drôme department, saw jury members test 80 different crémants from Luxembourg in a blind testing. The samples were organised into four sub-categories: dry white, vintage dry white, dry rosé and dry “blanc de noir”.

Luxembourg producers competed alongside peers from regions including Alsace, Bourgogne, Bordeaux, Limoux, Loire, Die, Jura and Savoie.

According to a government statement issued on Monday, among the main gold medal winners were Poll-Fabaire of Domaines Vinsmoselle, a cooperative of wine growers, Caves St Martin, Caves St Remy-Desom, Caves Krier-Frères Remich, Close des Rocher, Domaine Sunnen-Hoffmann and Domaine Mathes.

Silver medalists included Domaine Thill-Château de Schengen, Domaine Mathes, Domaine Pundel-Hoffeld, Caves Gales, Caves Krier-Frères and the Institut Viti Vinicole (the state winery).
