Around 1,000 people in Luxembourg City took to the streets on Saturday to protest the lack of affordable housing in the country.

The protest was co-organised by a new association called Mieterschutz, which aims to protect the rights of tenants renting in Luxembourg. “Sooner or later it will concern everyone,” co-founder Aldina Ganeto said of the housing crisis in an interview with Delano ahead of Saturday’s protest.
Nora Back--president of trade union OGBL--urged the government and lawmakers to be more courageous in combating the crisis. Speculation had been allowed to foster because of a lack of policies, she said.
The march began at the Glacis car park in Limpertsberg and made its way to the historic post office in the city centre.
