Rail and bus services are being dramatically reduced in Luxembourg to curb the spread of the coronavirus Romain Gamba/Maison Moderne (archives)

The information was communicated by the mobility ministry on Wednesday evening.

From 23 March, RGTR bus lines will enter the first phase of reduced weekly operations. This includes stopping all Sunday regional services. The new timetable can be found here.

From 19-20 March, rail operator CFL will dramatically reduce its services.

Line 10:

  • 1 train every hour between Gouvy or Troisvierges and Luxembourg (and vice versa)
  • 1 train every hour Luxembourg - Diekirch RB
  • 1 train every 2 hours Troisvierges - Luxembourg RE
  • 1 train every 2 hours Gouvy - Luxembourg IC (shift of the 2 trains RE and IC from Troisvierges)
  • 1 train every hour Diekirch - Luxembourg RB
  • Traffic suppressed between Kautenbach - Wiltz. Substitute buses are available for customers

Line 30:

  • RE 11 Koblenz runs normally in both directions
  • 1 train per hour Luxembourg - Trier RE
  • 1 train per hour Trier - Luxembourg RE
  • RB 83 Wittlich runs normally in both directions
  • 1 train per hour Luxembourg - Wittlich RB
  • 1 train per hour Wittlich - Luxembourg RB
  • Abolition of RB trains between Wasserbillig - Luxembourg

Line 50:

  • 1 train every hour Luxembourg - Arlon IC
  • 1 train every hour Arlon - Luxembourg IC
  • 1 train every hour Luxembourg - Arlon RB
  • 1 train every hour Arlon - Luxembourg RB

Line 60:

  • 2 trains per hour and per direction between Luxembourg and Pétange
  • Normal traffic between Bettembourg and Volmerange
  • Normal traffic between Esch and Audun
  • Traffic suppressed between Noertzange and Rumelange. Substitute buses are available to customers

Line 70:

  • 1 train every hour Luxembourg - Athus RB
  • 1 train every hour Athus - Luxembourg RB
  • Normal traffic between Luxembourg and Longwy

Line 90:

  • TER programme to be amended from day to day
  • TGV services to Paris and the south of France will be suspended from Friday until further notice

All CFL ticket counters at stations are closed as a precaution. Refunds can be obtained by contacting the CFL contact centre on 2489-2489.
