There will be changes to certain timetables and lines in Luxembourg starting midnight on 15 December 2019 Maison moderne/archives

Among the changes coming into force will be the opening of a new track 11 and a reactivation of track 10 at the central train station. The new track is part of a station expansion aimed at easing pressure on the infrastructure.

Luxembourg rail operator CFL also announced the opening of a new pedestrian bridge linking platform 5 to the Bonnevoie ring road (rocade). Rail users can also access platform 5 via the underground passages from the front and back of the train station.

Line 10: Luxembourg-Troisvierges-Gouvy

Between Kautenbach and Wiltz, after 2pm trains will leave 15 minutes later from Monday to Friday.

New link 10/60

A new line connecting Pétange-Esch-sur-Alzette-Dommeldange will be created, also stopping at Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg. There will be one train per hour on this line, from Monday to Saturday.

Line 10/70

The Longwy-Dommeldange line will be limited to Longwy-Luxembourg.

Line 30: Luxembourg-Wasserbillig-Trier

In addition to the once hourly service, an additional service will operate between Luxembourg and Wittlich via Trier train station. The following stations will be served once an hour in each direction: Luxembourg, Cents-Hamm, Sandweiler-Contern, Oetrange, Munsbach, Roodt, Betzdorf, Wecker, Manternach, Wasserbillig, Igel, Kreuz-Konz, Trier-Süd, rier Hbf, Pfalzel, Ehrang, Ehrang-Ort, Quint, Schweich, Föhren, Hetzerath, Sehlem, Salmtal and Wittlich.

Line 90: Luxembourg-Nancy

Trains serving the Lorraine region of France will be disrupted during the rolling out of equipment adapted to ensure trains comply with the European Rail Traffic Management System security requirements. Starting midnight on 15 December, nearly all rail users will have to change trains at Thionville until 3 April 2020. Further information here.

International lines

The TGV 9877 which stopped at Montpellier in 2019, will serve Marseille in future. There will be a daily return train to Marseille per day. It will arrive at Luxembourg central train station at 11.49pm instead of 5.35pm.
