He will be replaced by Simone Asselborn-Bintz, alderwoman in Sanem, according to Paperjam.

Negri first became an MP in 2004; he will be 65 years old the day after the October parliamentary elections. He had already announced in 2013 that this would be his last mandate, and confirmed to Paperjam that he wanted to give a chance for young talents.

Others are leaving too

Last week, Marcel Oberweis (CSV) announced he would not stand again. This week, Anne Brasseur (DP) said she would stand down on 21 January.
