Some 18,000 people successfully registered online for the Vaxzevria vaccine via impfen.lu and Guichet.lu during the first hours it was online.

This was despite slow page loading times or browsers announcing it was unable to load a page because of the high volume of visits.

In all, the portal pages were consulted over 480,000 times with a peak of 116,000 pages viewed between 6pm and 7pm.

The waiting list was decided during the cabinet meeting on 16 April and aims to prevent unused vaccines from being discarded and to enable younger residents earlier vaccine access.

At the start of April, Luxembourg launched the fifth phase of its vaccination campaign, aimed at residents aged 55-64 and people with a higher risk, including controlled diabetes, without complications; uncomplicated arterial hypertension; obesity (body mass index 30-40 kg/m2); pregnant women.
