The announcement was made by the low-cost airline Ryanair on 20 February. Flights can be booked online through March 2020, with special sales running through 22 February for the route.

Toulouse, also known as “the pink city” due to the colour of bricks making up the city’s skyline, is the capital of the southern Occitanie region. It boasts two Unesco World Heritage Sites, namely the Basilica of St. Sernin, one of the stops along an ancient pilgrammage route, and the Canal du Midi.

Ryanair was recently ordered to pay compensation to passengers whose flights were cancelled in summer 2018. Hundreds of flights had been cancelled during that time period, mainly due to personnel and pilot strikes.
