In addition to films made for entertainment, some pupils shot shorts exploring the subjects that mattered to them most.

From healthy eating to reducing plastic waste, the resulting short films made by 6 to 10-year-olds were premiered at the school’s first literacy film festival on Wednesday.

One group made a film to back a campaign to introduce compostable packaging for take-away food and drink, which was launched in conjunction with a petition.
