Serge de Cillia, interviewed here by Delano in September 2018, has caused friction at the ABBL with his management style according to Reporter sources. Maison Moderne

58-year old Serge de Cillia’s five-year tenure as the CEO of the ABBL, Luxembourg Bankers’ Association, is coming to an end, if a report by Véronique Poujol published by Reporter (paywall, in French) on Wednesday is correct. Poujol cites several sources who verify that de Cillia was forced to take two weeks’ leave by the ABBL board at a meeting on Tuesday.

The Reporter article says that de Cillia’s management style had caused conflict with some ABBL staff and with certain board members. Neither De Cillia or the ABBL press office would comment on the situation when contacted by Reporter.

De Cillia has had a 33-year career in the  banking sector and was recruited by the ABBL in 2000. He has been the CEO and head of the management board since 2014, when he replaced Jean-Jacques Rommes.
