Michel Wurth, president of the INDR and the UEL, said during the ceremony that there were now 132 companies that satisfied the criteria of the INDR.

The event was held on 2 June during the European Week of Sustainable Development. For the first time, a French company received the label.

Promoted by the European Commission as a vital tool, social responsibility is fast becoming a strategic tool for companies. It is an opportunity to improve governance, to reinforce societal involvement and to limit environmental impact, according to organisers. A company can thus ensure its own survival while also contributing to sustainable development.
