The rating, announced on 15 March, means Luxembourg continues to have an exceptional capacity to meet its financial commitments. Last week, DBRS also ranked the grand duchy with the highest rating.

The ratings agency noted that Luxembourg will continue benefiting from Brexit as financial companies relocate to the country, and that it is well-placed to do so, given recent tax framework measures.

It also highlighted the country’s fiscal policy, institutional framework and its steady economic growth as factors contributing to the rating.
