The report author wrote that the number of new infections due to intravenous drug use fell from 21 in 2016 to 10 in 2017, stressing that previous preventative efforts and services must be continued.

In addition to screening and information campaigns, the report said it was essential for the health minister to develop complementary strategies within the framework of the new national Aids action plan to stem this epidemic outbreak among intravenous drug users, who are marginalised and in great difficulty.
