Around 89% of primary pupils are registered at state schools and 11% at private schools, the education ministry said on 9 September.

Roughly 80% of secondary students are attending state schools, while 20% are attending private institutions.

The grand total of 107,153 learners is a 1.6% rise over the previous academic year and a 7% increase compared to the 2015/2016 academic year.
