Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad reported on Tuesday that Luxembourg investigators had travelled to Brussels to attend the interrogation of a suspect known as JV.

It comes as part of an investigation into the disappearance of jewels at the Grand Ducal palace in Luxembourg City, thought to have occurred earlier in 2018.

Investigators believe the thief or thieves had inside knowledge enabling them to steal the valuable jewels.

The makeup artist came under suspicion because he had made up Princess Claire for an event in the past and also did the make up for the women attending the wedding of Prince Guillaume and Princess Stéphanie in 2012.

The suspect was released on Tuesday and the investigation continues.
