Félix Braz, the deputy prime minister and justice minister (Green party), has been in intensive care following a heart attack on 22 August.

RTL reported on 6 September that Tanson will “take over the justice ministry for the moment”. L’essentiel carried a similar report on Wednesday. Braz might have to be replaced permanently due to “his serious health condition”, RTL commented.

Tanson (Green party), who was called to the Luxembourg Bar in 2005, currently serves as culture and housing minister. Previously she was an MP and member of the Luxembourg City municipal council.

François Bausch, the defense, internal security and transport minister (Green party), has been handling justice affairs on an ad hoc basis since Braz’s hospitalisation.

Xavier Bettel, the prime minister (DP), is expected to address Braz’s condition and cabinet roles during a midday press conference following the cabinet meeting.

The Green party would have to confirm Tanson’s appointment.
