The team noted that more than half of its squad members are under 18s and many of them were born in the Grand Duchy.
“To be taking a such youthful team that truly represents Luxembourg society is a dream for me,” Eduardo Angioni, squad captain, said in the press statement.
“And to see so many young players coming through our youth development programme and competing at the very highest level in the sport is really satisfying for all those involved in the club,” stated Angioni, who was raised in the Grand Duchy.
Touch is a low impact form of rugby featuring six-a-side teams, often mixed-gender, that play on half a regular sized rugby pitch. Teams try to score the most points before being touched six times by their opponents.
Luxembourg Touch is part of the Rugby Club Luxembourg, and holds training and games sessions on Tuesday nights at Stade Michel Wagner in Weimerskirch.
