A statement tweeted on 12 December read: “HRH Princess Tessy is disappointed with the judgment of Mr Justice MacDonald. In the circumstances, she is considering an appeal to the Court of Appeal.”

It further set out to clarify statements made in the press as false. Among the corrections concerning the co-founder of the NGO Professors Without Borders, the tweet noted that neither she nor anyone else within the organisation received a salary for their work with the group.

“Moreover, She and Her sons TRH Princes Gabriel and Noah have merely a six months license to occupy their home which could be terminated at any given moment in time leaving them without a home. This has also been wrongly reproduced in several papers mentioning a stay until Her youngest child is 18 years old.”

The tweet added that a further statement would follow in due course and closed by wishing followers a “wonderful Christmas, good health and a happy New Year 2019.”

Tessy Antony and Prince Louis of Luxembourg married on 29 September 2006. The couple’s separation was announced by the royal court on 18 January 2017. Princess Tessy represented herself at a hearing in the family courts in London in October 2018. In December, the judge ordered Prince Louis to pay £4,000 per child per year. A report said that Tessy had originally asked for a £1.5 million lump sum to buy a family home and a car.
