The episode is to be filmed live on 4 November, but will include footage of their experience in Luxembourg. A Luxembourg delegation will attend.

French art director Charles Hagens Monteverdi had the idea to invite the Top Gear team to Luxembourg, after attending a Nation Branding event in which members of the public were urged to help promote sides of Luxembourg beyond just the financial centre.

Top Gear “touches an important target; the new generation, the so-called millennials, the digital natives,” he wrote in a post on his website about the experience.

After a Top Gear producer visited the country in March, filming took place in April, with the help of numerous partners such as Demy Schandeler, who pulled out all the stops to accommodate the film crew, get them to and from the Goodyear circuit in Colmar Berg, and provide all the other things needed for a film shoot around Luxembourg.

A group of 51 people will now be able to watch the live filming of the episode in France, as partners have mobilised again to ferry the group to the studios on 4 November.
